A Snapshot on The New Labour Code

India’s new Labour Codes consolidate 29 central labour laws into four comprehensive codes covering wages, industrial relations, social security, and occupational safety. The reforms aim to simplify compliance, improve ease of doing business, and extend worker protections through measures such as a uniform definition of wages, expanded social security for gig and platform workers, mandatory appointment letters, enhanced workplace safety standards, and streamlined dispute resolution. The new framework is designed to create a more transparent, efficient, and balanced labour ecosystem while promoting formal employment and safeguarding workers’ rights.

Budget 2026

A Snapshot on Income Tax Proposals

The Union Budget 2026 introduced a series of tax reforms focused on simplifying compliance while maintaining stability in the personal tax regime. Key proposals include the implementation of the new Income-tax Act, 2025 from April 2026, with no changes to the existing income tax slabs or standard deduction. The Budget also rationalised TDS and TCS provisions, reduced TCS rates for select transactions, introduced simplified compliance measures, and expanded digital tax administration. These initiatives aim to make the tax system more transparent, efficient, and taxpayer-friendly while encouraging voluntary compliance and supporting long-term economic growth.

Budget 2025

A Snapshot on Income Tax Proposals

The Union Budget 2025 introduced significant tax reforms aimed at simplifying the income tax framework and increasing disposable income for individuals. Key measures include revised tax slabs under the new tax regime, a higher rebate resulting in zero income tax for resident individuals with taxable income up to ₹12 lakh (subject to applicable conditions), and an increased basic exemption limit. The Budget also proposed a simplified Income Tax Bill to reduce complexity, improve compliance through digital processes, and create a more transparent and taxpayer-friendly system, while supporting consumption and economic growth.
